Version 9 Known Issues
Resolved as of 7/30/09
AUTO UPDATE PROGRAM-MUST OWN VERSION 9!:
Download Version 9.3 which fixes all known issues & installs the auto-update feature (computer must be connected to the internet to use this version). The download will update your program to a three digit version number (9.3.XX) and install a program that periodically checks our website for updates. If your computer is online you will be automatically updated when you start the program. Follow the on screen prompts to run the installer.
If you need to download the setup program & move it to another computer via CD-ROM or thumb drive, download the 9.3.2 update by clicking here. Save it to your desktop & copy it to your media.
Microsoft ".NET" Framework: The new version requires that your operating system be updated with Microsoft's ".NET" Framework, version 2 or later. If you receive an error regarding the framework being missing, visit the Microsoft website & download the component.
WINDOWS 98 USERS ONLY!
If you have Windows 98, you will need to modify your desktop shortcut for the program to run properly and the auto-update feature will be disabled. From the desktop, place your mouse pointer over the Genericode 9 shortcut, right click & select "Properties". Change the appropriate dialog boxes so that they read exactly like the image below:
When done click "OK". Your program should now run normally.
Version 8 Known Installation Issues
If you are upgrading from version 6 or 7, your installation should have no problems. If you are upgrading from version 3,4, or 5 to 8, you will get an error after installation & upon startup. You must delete the "gcode" directory from your hard drive (delete the directory, do not uninstall the program!). Once done, reinstall version 8 & your program should run normally.
You can update your vehicle table by downloading the following update. This will fix the 2008 Nissan Rogue among other models. Click on the link and either save the file to your desktop or simply run it from this location.
Version 7 Known Installation Issues
If you are upgrading from version 6 to 7, your installation should have no problems. If you are upgrading from version 3,4, or 5 to 7, you will get an error after installation & upon startup. You must delete the "gcode" directory from your hard drive (delete the directory, do not uninstall the program!). Once done, reinstall version 7 & your program should run normally.
